My Taste In Music
Hey, my name is Tyler Leal. I am a student athlete at Converse University. I swim for the school and if you don't find me at my dorm, eating, in a class, or swimming there's a very high chance i'm out playing ping pong. I previously lived in GA where I was born and raised with my siblings of which i am the oldest. I like to play soccer and make beats. Back home I used to play viola in an orchestra, which in my opinion gave me a new level of appreciation for music. I listen to many genres of music. There's very few songs I dislike and more than likely if I dislike the song, its not inherently the song's fault but the situation of which I relate the song to or heard it from.
One song I've been playing a lot these past few weeks has been CHEGOU 3 - by shonci. This song has been played many times since even writing this. Something about the beat being very bouncy and quick just makes me enjoy listening too. Even though I don't understand it its very catchy and fun to dance to like the people in the video. If I'm not mistaken this song was intended to be a cross between house and Brazilian funk but it could just be the latter.
Moonlight Sonata (More specifically the first movement) by Beethoven, has been a piece that has held significance to me for some years now. I don't remember exactly why but a few years ago I remember hearing it and the song just stuck with me since. It makes random appearances in my listen to music throughout each month but has been very consistently. The piece just sounds smooth and "flowy" to me.
A song I don't really vibe with is Man In Finance. I understand the song was made from a video clip of a girl stating what she is looking for in a guy but if it wasn't that it wouldn't be a song I would listen to anyway. To me its more of a joke than a vibe. I do however think the person that made it, mixed it very well. Despite it being mixed very well, the audio is extremely over used. To put a cherry on top, now the song is stuck in my head.
An honorable mention song is My Eyes - by Travis Scott. Since its release in July 2023, it has been one of my most played songs. I love the flow, the beat, the lyrics, basically everything about it. The song starts out slow then in the last minute of the song Travis Scott raps with a tempo and beat switch. The song isn't for everyone but to me this was a much appreciated but unexpected kind of song from him. In words of someone I don't remember "Travis rapped like he didn't have a second to waste" and I completely agree. The way he put what he was rapping about the way he did together made me fall in love with this song. I already liked his music but this song was a different level.
Hey tyler, a song that I found interesting in your blog is the Chegou 3 song. I also like that song a lot, I discovered that song on TikTok since it went really viral on the platform. And a song that I liked the best has to be My eyes by Travis Scott. I also think that song, it is really really good, even thought the first time I listened to it was when the album came out and I was really skeptical about it. Really liked your blog!!
ReplyDeleteHi Tyler, a song I found interesting was Man In Finance. I definitely didn't think I would see a "TikTok" song on here like one made from people messing around on TikTok and its kinda fun. Though I do agree with you, I dislike this song also. The song I really liked was Moonlight Sonata! I love classical music and this song is just beautiful. My personal favorite Beethoven song is Fur Elise. Overall I really like your blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Tyler! Yes, the Man In Finance song is kinda insane to me. I thought it was just a fun silly little audio but it really didn't need to be a whole song. TikTok always has a funny way of doing that and sometimes it's nice because I know that's how a lot of people are kicking off their careers but there are some times when it is unnecessary (just my 2 cents though) I found the My Eyes by Travis Scott interesting. The only songs of his I've actually listened to are Sicko Mode and I Know, so to hear another one of his was pretty cool! Thank you for sharing!

ReplyDeleteIt was interesting reading your blog Tyler! I think we have some similarities in our music taste and you really got me with "My Eyes". It's definitely one of, if not my favorite song by Travis Scott, the beat switch-up is amazing in that song. Really gets me hyped up and focused. I bet you might listen to it before one of your swim races to get in the zone. Great job!
ReplyDeleteHey Tyler! That's very cool you like Chegou 3, the brazilian funk. I was previously in Brazil for 2 months so I listened to a lot of brazilian funk, including this song. I like the bounce to the beat as well, thats why brazilian funk is so special. The dance, has also been popular on tik tok and in brazil at different parties.
ReplyDeleteHi Tyler, I really found interesting the music that you putted as an honorable mention, it is for sure one of my favourite ones of that album ! I really like the fact that there is a switch-up in the song and it is like they are two songs in one. It also reminds me the first music by Tiakola that I putted in my blog, which also has a switch-up.
